I don’t know which of these two are dumber?
Two Berlin police officers were pelted by snowballs thrown by a group of about 40 youths but were able to fight them off with pepper spray, police said on Sunday.
The officers were investigating a brawl early Saturday morning. They ignored demands from a group of about 25 youths to leave and were then attacked by snowballs. The number of youths throwing snowballs quickly grew to 40.
The officers first retreated but then fought back with the pepper spray, prompting the youths to flee. Many were later arrested. There were no injuries, police said. Take it from me, snowballs can really hurt!
Talk about crazy! Police have arrested a Pennsylvania man who they say stole two hand-held video game systems and three games from the casket of a teen who was killed in a Christmas Day SUV crash. ?
State police say they got an anonymous tip that enabled them to arrest 37-year-old Jody Lynn Bennett, of Mentcle, on Wednesday. He was unable to post $15,000 bond and was jailed after his arraignment on charges including theft, abuse of a corpse, and intentional desecration of a venerated object.
Police say Bennett grabbed a Game Boy, a Game Boy Light and three games from the casket of 17-year-old Bradley McCombs during a viewing Monday night at a funeral home in Montgomery Township, about 65 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.
Bennett’s mother, Sharon, says her son has a drug problem. She apologized for his actions and says he will make a formal apology to the family and also donate his xbox 360 to charity.
But just like Octomom, the sale is nothing ordinary. Hosted by comedian Tattoo, the sale will also be hosted live on eBay and streamed over the Internet on UStream.tv.
Through the combined formats, with a play-by-play from Tattoo, bidders will buy old nursery bras (autographed by Octomom herself), autographed pregnant panties along with toys and other trinkets.
“Nadya is a personal friend and wonderful Mom,” Tattoo said. “We are only trying to help her 14 children. What better way to do that than with a Yard Sale!”
Other items for sale include the sofa that she was sitting on when she found out she was pregnant with octuplets and hand prints of the children.
I guess what she was doing was pretty bad but how drunk were the women in the bars that let her give them breast exams?
An Idaho judge has set bond at $100,000 for a Boise woman police say posed as a physician and duped at least two other women into having their breasts examined by her at Boise-area nightclubs.
Kristina Ross, 37, remains in Ada County Jail in Boise on two felony counts of practicing medicine without a license.
Police say Ross introduced herself to victims — one at a downtown Boise bar and the other at a nightclub in a Boise suburb — as a plastic surgeon named Berlyn Aussieahshowna, a name that turned out to be bogus.
The two women told Boise officers they believed Ross was a physician because of her apparent medical knowledge, and they agreed to undergo what they thought were breast exams, which happened at the bars.
As part of her ruse, Ross gave the women the telephone number of a real licensed plastic surgeon in Boise, the state capital, authorities said.
Staff at that medical office became alarmed at the number of calls they received from women in recent weeks attempting to confirm appointments or surgeries with a Berlyn Aussieahshowna, according to charging documents.
Medical workers on Tuesday alerted Boise police about the pattern, and they later arrested Ross.
The suspect’s gender is unclear. Idaho court records show that Ross was arrested for petty theft in the spring and that the arrest warrant was issued to a Kristoffer Jon Ross.
The Idaho Statesman website reported that Ross has a previous criminal record as a man but identifies herself as a woman and was booked into Ada County Jail as a female.
Cosmetic surgical procedures Ross discussed with victims after she touched their breasts under the guise of a medical evaluation included breast augmentation and liposuction.
The court on Wednesday found Ross was eligible for a public defender and set a preliminary hearing on the two felony charges for Dec. 1. If convicted, Ross could face a maximum of five years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 for each count.
A German man who allegedly shipped hundreds of live tarantulas into the United States through the mail was charged Friday with illegally importing wildlife. I want to know about the crazy people that order these freak’in things.
Sven Koppler, a 37-year-old German national, was arrested by federal agents late Thursday, shortly after arriving in Los Angeles to meet an associate, U.S. Attorney’s spokesman Thom Mrozek said in a written statement.
Mrozek said the investigation into Koppler began in March, when a routine inspection turned up about 300 live tarantulas in a package mailed to Los Angeles.
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service agents then intercepted two more packages, one containing nearly 250 live tarantulas, wrapped in colored plastic straws.
The second package was found to hold 22 Mexican red-kneed tarantulas, a species formally known as Brachypelma smithi that is protected under an international treaty.
Mrozek said Fish and Wildlife agents, conducting an investigation dubbed “Operation Spiderman” ordered more spiders from Koppler and were sent a total of five packages containing dozens of live and dead tarantulas.
According to the criminal complaint, agents believe Koppler has received about $300,000 for selling tarantulas to individuals in dozens of countries throughout the world.
Koppler, who prosecutors believe lives in Wachtberg, Germany, was scheduled to make his initial court appearance later on Friday and faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
While many people considered tarantulas threatening, their venom is weaker than a honeybee and other than a painful bite, is harmless to humans.
The Mexican red-kneed tarantula, which is native to Mexico, can grow to about 4 inches long, with a leg span of 6 inches, and has a dark body with orange patches on the legs, giving it the “red-kneed” appearance.
The spiders are considered docile and females can live for more than 20 years.
The Brachypelma genus of spider is protected by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species because it is considered threatened, and can only be legally traded with permits from the exporting country.
